I began my teaching career in private school, and have taught 5th grade through senior high school. My first certifications were in English and Latin, but my first teaching experiences were with English. However, once I began teaching Latin, I discovered that it was what I most loved doing. I went on to receive my Masters in Education and taught for almost 30 years, having interrupted my teaching career to raise our four children. Although retired from full time education, I am currently teaching a long distance Latin class via the internet for homeschooled children.

I am currently a 16 year veteran science teacher, inspiring great minds in everything from Geology to AP Biology. I am a graduate of Indiana University, University of North Georgia, and Lesley University. My highest degree is an Ed.S. in Educational Technology. I am married to an awesome fella and we have a cutie 7 year old daughter. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking, baking, and dragging my family all over the country to various Civil War sites.

I retired in 2007 after teaching 32 years, all in kindergarten. Since then I have kept busy subbing and volunteering at the school I retired from. I attend Williamstown United Methodist Church where I help with the children's sermon, vacation Bible school, and writing the monthly newsletter. I also enjoy working in my garden and canning vegetables in the summer. During election years I am a poll manager for Fannin County.
