I am a Georgian but experienced living in other parts of the US as well as Isfahan, Iran with my military husband. During the first half of my 44 year marriage I enjoyed a variety of jobs. I chose something different each time we relocated. My desire to teach was confirmed when I worked as a parapro in a HS math lab. I returned to college to earn a BS in math and education at the University of Southern Mississippi. My last move was back to Georgia and into the classroom at Gilmer HS until my retirement in 2010.

I have been retired  for the past three years. I enjoy spending time with family,  friends and pets, working with my family geneology,  volunteering with Empty Stocking, reading, and traveling to see my “kids” and grandkids.  I am a widow with 2 step daughters and 2 step sons (one deceased) and five grandkids (Chris, Kassan, Shae, Ian and Blaire) who reside in Colorado and Wyoming.

I taught Special Education (mostly high school) for 32 years  for Adams Districts 12 and 1 in Colorado, Polk County, TN and Fannin County, GA. I completed my Associates Degree  from Joliet Community College, Joliet, Illinois, Bachelors Degree for Special Education and Elementary Education at Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, Illinois and my Masters Degree in Special Education from University of Northern Colorado, Greely, Colorado.

CHAPLAIN

I began my teaching career in private school, and have taught 5th grade through senior high school. My first certifications were in English and Latin, but my first teaching experiences were with English. However, once I began teaching Latin, I discovered that it was what I most loved doing. I went on to receive my Masters in Education and taught for almost 30 years, having interrupted my teaching career to raise our four children. Although retired from full time education, I am currently teaching a long distance Latin class via the internet for homeschooled children.
